Habib University is non-profit university in Pakistan which is committed to providing world class education to the underserved through generous scholarships and financial aid. Habib University Foundation US (HUFUS) is a non-profit organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a Section 501 (c) (3) tax-exempted public charity. It supports and works for the vision of Habib University in providing scholarships and financial aid to deserving students in need.

Habib University has a community of Mohsineen who have been supporting the university’s mission through donations, Zakat, CSR partnerships as well as endowments. This community is not limited to Pakistan but is spread all across the world, particularly USA, UK and Canada.

85% of the student body in Habib University is on some kind of scholarship or financial aid.

Applicants who have given examinations of Intermediate/A Levels/High School Diploma/International Baccalaureate Diplomas or any other equivalent qualification with relevant grades are eligible to apply for the Habib Entrance Exam.

Habib University is Pakistan’s only undergraduate focused liberal arts and sciences university. Habib University offers a distinct world class liberal arts curriculum that is contextually relevant and grounded in our South Asian context and heritage. This focus on liberal arts was a conscious decision to instill critical thinking in young leaders of Pakistan.

Pakistan has one of the lowest university attendance rates in the world due to low opportunities and high costs of attending universities. Your education funds for university students will not only help transform one student's life but also change the future of a family and community while also making a long-lasting impact on Pakistan’s human resource potential.

Yes, donations can help fund scholarships for students. Habib University scholarships are often funded through donations from individuals, organizations, and institutions. There are various types of scholarships, including need-based scholarships, merit-based scholarships, and scholarships for specific fields of study.

Yes, Zakat can be given for funding students' higher education. In fact, one of the eight categories of Zakat recipients, as outlined in the Quran, is "Ibn al-Sabil, " which refers to travelers and students who are in need of financial assistance. This includes providing financial support for students who are pursuing education and do not have the means to do so on their own. You can also refer to this page for further info.

The Zakat collection and disbursement procedure at HU is Shariah compliant and has been certified by a Shariah advisor from Jamia Darul-Uloom Karachi.

We maintain separate bank accounts for Zakat collection and periodic disbursement. Annual Shariah audits are also conducted to ensure transparency. Only Students who are eligible for Zakat are given scholarships or financial aid from Zakat.

Visionaries are subscribers who make a recurring monthly contribution of USD 100 or more. Benefactors are subscribers who make a recurring monthly contribution of USD 50 or less than 100. Supporters are subscribers who make a recurring monthly donation of USD 25 or less than 50. Friends are subscribers who make a recurring monthly donation of USD 15 or less than 25.

You will receive an email and receipt upon every transaction made.

Habib University Foundation US is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity. US donors are eligible to receive an income tax deduction for charitable contributions to the extent permitted by law.

You will receive an e receipt once your donation is processed on the email address provided by you on the weblink form. Please check your spam/ junk incase the receipt is not received in your inbox and mark it as not spam/junk so you may receive the subsequent receipts in your primary inbox.

Your debit card needs to be activated for online use by your bank. Upon activation you can use your debit card to subscribe on giving@hufus.org

The donor community of Habib University are called the “Mohsineen”, the term Mohsineen is derived from the Arabic word, Ihsan and means to “do something perfectly”.
