Mr. Imran Sharih

Director, GPI Capital Base of Operations: Corporate Lawyer

Imran Sharih is a Director at GPI Capital, a New York-based private equity firm, where he is responsible for the firm’s legal and regulatory affairs and deal execution. A corporate lawyer by background, Mr. Sharih previously spent more than a decade in private practice, primarily at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison and Latham & Watkins where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions. Due to his expertise in financial regulation, Mr. Sharih was also previously appointed to serve as Senior Counsel to the Financial Services Committee of the House of Representatives, where he advised on capital markets policy and oversight matters.

Mr. Sharih has led various philanthropic initiatives relating to Pakistan, including earthquake and flood relief efforts in support of UNICEF’s emergency operations. In addition, Mr. Sharih has co-founded and advised several Pakistan-based startups and has also advised major foreign investors active in the country.

Mr. Sharih holds an A.B. in Government and History (Honors) from Dartmouth College and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
